View of the San Joaquin Valley from the Coastal Range Mountains in California

Stretching for miles, the San Joaquin Valley is a giant chessboard of crops framed on both sides with mountains. I was researching the vineyards and orchards in the Coastal Mountains when I came upon this view of farms in the Central Valley.  Agriculture dominates much of California's land and this area has been called "The food basket of the World."
