St Joseph's Hill in Los Gatos as seen from Donkey Hill

The late afternoon light cast an orange glow over the trees, barn and surrounding hills.  Billowing clouds grew from the east catching the last of the sun. I drove around the streets to the top of the hill and then asked a local resident walking his dog if there was a lookout that was open to the public. He told me about a neighborhood secret that everyone calls Donkey Hill because in the summer donkeys are usually wandering around. I sprinted up the path just as the sun was setting and vowed to come back and paint. Painted at Los Gatos Plein Air 2011.
