Take Time to Smell the Jasmine
I have a jasmine plant on the side of the back porch. It is a wild plant that sends clinging vines skyward, trying to overgrow the porch roof. Every spring it produces thousands of light pink flowers and a cloud of fragrance. Even with the door closed, the smell of jasmine lingers in the house. That smell is sometimes overwhelming, especially on warm days when I have the back door open to catch a breeze.
This spring, with so much rain and snow, the local flowers have formed a mosaic of colors. At Big Bear the lake is filled to the brim and they released water downstream for the first time in 15 years. I can only hope that the drought in Southern California is over.

Just Off the Easel Sailboat at the End of the Dock My recent obsession with boats continues as I enjoy the warm weather at the marina. Painting with friends in the California sun - believe me, it doesn't get better than this.
See my latest creations at Just off the Easel. This feature makes it easier for you to find my new paintings, so come back often and see what's new.
