Sharon Weaver
Landscape oil painter
Born with a passion for art, Sharon Weaver first attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. The art classes, museums and architecture revealed a wonderful new world filled with possibilities. Wanting to be in the center of the art community, Sharon transferred to Parsons School of Design in New York City and graduated with a major in Fashion Design. While working for more than a decade in Manhattan, Sharon’s career took her to Europe, Asia and throughout the United States.
Visiting Los Angeles, Sharon found the natural beauty and wide open spaces of the Southwest a welcome change from the man-made canyons of New York. It didn’t take long for her to move to California where she has pursued her art, landscape painting, full-time. Sharon describes her experience when she paints as “a compulsion. When inspiration takes over, the painting reveals itself on the canvas, as if it were there all along. It is a wonderful and exciting experience.”
Sharon Weaver recently was juried into the Oil Painters of America 20th Annual National Juried Exhibition, was an award winner at the Carmel Art Festival and had her work included in American Art Collector magazine in the 2011 June and September issues. Sharon has had her first one woman show, expanded her teaching credentials to include an 8 week plein air class, taught a figure drawing class at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art and was the featured artist at the Inland Empire art festival “Art, for Heaven’s Sake!"
Sharon is currently represented by Fine Art and Antique on Lake in Pasadena, CA, Whites Gallery in Montrose, CA and Art in Miniature in Tubac, AZ.
